Once the rubber mold is removed from the original it is reassembled and specialist engineering wax is used to make a hollow wax copy of the original. This wax copy is inspected and worked off to perfect accuracy. The wax copy is then cut up to manageable pieces and a pouring cup with tubes called runners and risers are attached to each individual wax section. The art of attaching these pouring cups, runners and risers, is known as gating.
