Once the ceramic shell molds are ready they are put back in a kiln, slowly heated and kept at a high temperature. Heating of the molds reduces the effect of thermal shock. At the same time bronze is molten at very precise temperatures in a crucible within a furnace. The crucible is manually removed from the furnace once the bronze is ready to be poured. The super-heated bronze is then carefully poured into the heated ceramic shell molds and left to cool. Once the now solid bronzes are cool the ceramic shell is removed from the bronze sections.
